Ingredients

Creamy Filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Pinwheels
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 6 ounces deli ham thinly sliced, finely chopped or layered evenly
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons green onions thinly sliced

Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl medium
  • 1 spatula or spoon for mixing and spreading
  • 1 knife sharp, for slicing
  • 1 cutting board for slicing
  • 1 plastic wrap or beeswax wrap for chilling the rolls

Method

Make the Filling
  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt or sour cream, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth and spreadable.
Assemble the Pinwheels
  1. Lay the tortillas flat on a clean work surface.
  2. Divide the cream cheese mixture evenly among the tortillas and spread it close to the edges in a thin, even layer.
  3. Top each tortilla evenly with deli ham, shredded cheddar, and green onions.
  4. Roll each tortilla up tightly into a log.
  5. Wrap each roll tightly and chill for at least 30 minutes to help the pinwheels hold their shape.
  6. Unwrap the chilled rolls, trim the ends if desired, and slice each roll into 1-inch pinwheels.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Soften the cream cheese before mixing for a smoother spread. Chill the rolled tortillas before slicing for cleaner pinwheels. Keep refrigerated and use an ice pack if packing in lunchboxes.
