Ingredients

For the apple fries
  • 3 medium apples Honeycrisp or Fuji preferred
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter or coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
For the creamy dip
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese softened
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • 1 air fryer
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 small bowl for dip
  • 1 knife
  • 1 cutting board

Method

Prepare the apple fries
  1. Wash and dry the apples well. Cut them into slices, then into thick fry-shaped sticks of even size.
  2. Place the apple sticks in a bowl and toss with the lemon juice.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter or coconut oil over the apples. Sprinkle on the cinnamon mixture and toss gently until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for 3 minutes if your model recommends preheating.
  6. Arrange the apple fries in the air fryer basket in a mostly even layer, working in batches if needed.
  7. Air fry at 380°F for 7 to 8 minutes, shaking halfway through, until tender with lightly browned edges.
Make the dip and serve
  1. In a small bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt, softened cream cheese, maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract, and pinch of cinnamon until smooth.
  2. Let the apple fries cool for 2 to 3 minutes before serving warm with the creamy dip.

Notes

Use firm apples for the best texture. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture. Store the dip refrigerated and enjoy leftovers within 1 day.
